Brief activity in the skies above Sumburgh Airport in Shetland

That active area on the sun that gave us the massive event last month is probably responsible for this.

This short clip shows how an aurora can suddently become active for a short time and then just fade away. Despite the cloud and the lights from the airport this aurora gave us a few interesting end enjoybable minutes from around 1830GMT on Sunday 10th November 2024.

Cliff Cam 3 at Sumburgh Head had probably the best view as the other locations had rain showers and cloud cover. It became quite bright too and plenty of colour can be seen across the frame in this 20 minute clip where you can watch it build and then fade away.
